my suggestions and opinions for a successful myspace site!
1. have a good editing program
You Really shouldn't make a layout/myspace site and have Windows Paint or Lunapic for your photo editing program. I'm talkin more about Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, GIMP, etc. (photofiltre is okay too). That way you can make quality content, and people will take you more seriously. AND more importantly, learn how to use it first. Either look on other sites for tutorials or just google it.

2. know html/css
Your site will not be successful if you steal other peoples layouts and just change the background. that is a HUGE no-no. You should know html/css very well. Don't depend on other sites to make your stuff. Ex: layouts, headers, signs. You'll need to know html to put credits, and alot more.

3. have alot of content
your main goal is to have a TON of content for the people adding you. because they're only adding you for your stuff. it's understandable for new sites to have a couple of things up but if you want alot of friends, then you should make your content before making your site and then post up everything so that you have a variety of things.

4. organize, organize
People will judge your site. if you have a messy, cluttered page then people will think you have a bad site. and if they don't like your page, they might not want to support you or be affiliates with you or they might not even want to use your stuff! Make it very easy for people to navigate around your site, have a clear navigation bar, don't have 5463584381 pictures on your page. simple is the way to go! =]
